Paintings
a selection of recent works
I paint for those perfect moments that have just the right mingling of subtlety, surprise, reflection and narrative.
I invite you to find meaning and pleasure where you will in my artwork.
Eat The Apple
acrylic on wood panel
Recently on display at Northern Contemporary Art Gallery for their group show "All You Can Eat". This painting was inspired, in part, by the poem "What I Would Tell Eve" by Maegen Mcauliffe O’Leary and the strawberries I grew in my garden this summer.

Heart and Mind
acrylic on wood panel
A painting that ruminates love, and which I found synergized in some way with the below excerpt.
Said the Sun to the Moon- ‘When you are but a lonely white crone,
And I, a dead King in my golden armour somewhere in a dark wood,
Remember only this of our hopeless love
That never till Time is done
Will the fire of the heart and the fire of the mind be one.’
Excerpt from ‘Heart and Mind’ by Edith Sitwell
